This Municipality is part of the Metropolitan City of Naples and is located in the Southern area of the Gulf of Naples, perched on the Lattari Mountains that encloses Lettere in its park.

The Lettere Castle had a military purpose from the 11^th century until the Aragon domination; after being abandoned for a period, which completely spoiled it, it has been restored and can now be visited.
