The Municipality is part of the Metropolitan City of Naples in the Italian region of Campania.

Agerola is located in a valley on the Lattari Mountains, 600 metres above the sea level. It is situated next to the Amalfi coast, so much so it was part of the past Republic of Amalfi.

Its natural terraces are the best place to admire the beauties of the Amalfi coast.

Agerola is famous for the production and processing of fior di latte mozzarella cheese and its dairy products.
